If I made a feature film on par with M-S-P, you can rest assured that I'd be talking about it whenever I got the chance. At the same time, I can understand why Nick so shamelessly self-promotes it at every chance he gets: if he doesn't, who will? Besides, there's nothing really wrong with being proud of your work. I can understand that some people have found the fact that Nick sent out a very rude "street team" to promote the film (which in turn spammed the hell out of every board they could find) makes them not want to see the movie. I don't get Bill Lustig's indignant outrage, either. I don't understand how Mitch Davis (who runs the Fant-Asia Film Festival) could reject the film for the festival, when they've proudly shown Nacho Cerda's Aftermath in years past. I don't really understand why his film has inspired such hatred amongst some people who purport to love horror movies. I can't say that I disagree with him, either. I think some of the attitude in that commentary track is because he's been genuinely stung by the criticism of his film-particularly from the "hardcore horror fan" community. When we've spoken, he's always been very self-effacing. Having talked with Nick a lot over the course of the past year, I can say that he's really not an egotistical dickhead.
